MOUNTAIN RESCUE - CUILLINS (ISLE OF SKYE)
At around 13.53 today a group of 13 hillwalkers were walking in the Corrie A
Banachaidh area of the Cuillins, Isle of Skye when one member of the party
suffered a fall.
It is understood the man, aged 50 years, fell a distance of around 40 metres
and is believed to have sustained multiple injuries.
He is presently conscious and speaking to members of the group. His injuries
are not thought to be life threatening at this stage. It is believed the party
were climbing at a height of around 800m when the incident happened.
Six members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team have been dispatched to the area
and the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter is also en route.
